Worship @BPC

We are passionate about worship at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, and we would love for you to join us and experience God’s goodness!

Check out the FAQ below for more info about our worship services!

When Are Services?

At Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for everyone as we come together to celebrate our faith.

The 9:00 AM service is more formal, with organ, hymnal, and choir, while the 10:45 AM service is more contemporary, led by our talented praise band.

No matter the service you choose to attend, you can expect heartfelt music, inspiring sermons, and a sense of community. We invite you to join us on this spiritual journey as we seek to love all and serve all.

What are services like?

When you join us at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church for our services, you can expect a vibrant and uplifting worship experience. Each week, we come together to sing songs of praise, pray together, read scripture, and listen to inspiring sermons. Our aim is to create a space of passionate engagement and meaningful worship.

At BPC, we value the teachings of Jesus. It is through Christ that we come to know God, and we find hope and salvation in Him. Everything we do in worship and in mission is focused on honoring our Lord, Jesus Christ. We also strive for relevance, actively seeking to reach and meet the needs of people from all generations and backgrounds.

Join us on this spiritual journey of love and service!

Music

Chancel Choir

This ensemble is open to all adults, and high school students whose voices have changed. All that is required to be a part of this group is a desire to sing, enjoy the fellowship of other Christians, and worship our saving Lord through music. We focus on praise, not perfection, therefore music reading skills and choral experience are NOT required. The Chancel Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM from September-May.

Praise Bands

The praise bands lead the 10:45am service and practice on Thursday nights at 6:30pm.  We are blessed to have a wonderful group of volunteers leading us in worship weekly.  If you sing or play guitar, bass, keys or drums and have a heart for worship we’d love for you to be a part of the team.

BPC Symphony

The BPC symphony comes together to lead our congregation in song several times a year and helps to accompany our special services, such as Christmas and Easter.  The BPC Symphony is open to any instrumentalist regardless of age or skill, even if you haven’t played your instrument in years! This would be a great chance to dust it off and see if you can still make a joyful noise!

Handbell Choir (currently on hiatus)

The handbell choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 6pm and offers anthems on the 4th Sunday of the month.

Children’s Chorus

The children’s chorus practices as a part of the Wednesday night program (Journey) and is open to all kids ages K-5th grade.

If you have questions about any of our ensembles please contact Chris Werner at worship@bettpres.org

What Should I Wear?

The 9am Traditional service tends to be more formal and our 10:45am Modern service less formal, but we want you to feel comfortable in whatever you choose to wear. We are just happy that you are joining us for worship! We want you to be able to focus on worship rather than what you are wearing. During the summertime, it is common for parishioners to wear shorts and t-shirts. Of course you can wear your “Sunday Best” if you so choose to!

Kids in worship

Kids are welcome at BPC!  We believe that the best way for our children to learn to worship is by being in the worship service with their families, so feel free to have kids attend with you.  We have kid’s activity bags available near the entry doors with coloring activities and fidget items.  We understand that you might want to have a little time for yourselves, so for kids ages 5 and under we also offer a nursery staffed by volunteers located on our lower level.  If you would like to use the nursery, ask one of our friendly ushers and they will be happy to show you the way!
