Youth Stewardship

The purpose of Youth Stewardship is to assist children in establishing a pattern of giving to the life of the church and to develop a sense of mission as they look at the world around them.

Our children discuss issues concerning stewardship and determine how their offerings will be distributed. The money has been divided among World, National, State, Community and church projects. The kids also participate in other mission projects such as bake sales, One Great Hour of Sharing, Mitten Tree, Food Pantry and Pennies from Heaven - which are donated to a needy child.

During the 2005-2006 school year we made donations to the Heifer Project, Hurricane relief in the south, Camp Courageous, Rick's house of Hope, Prayer Shawl Ministry and Ladybug Preschool.

We are off to a great start this fall. The youth are faithfully bringing in their offerings for Youth Stewardship each week. After some discussion, the kids decided they wanted to reach out to youth in other countries so we are now sponsoring a 7-year-old girl from Bangladesh! That means our money is able to provide her with educational opportunities, along with basic health services. While we are sponsoring her we will be able to correspond with her and get to know her country a little better. We are anxiously waiting for our first letter from her! Kids really DO make a difference!

During December we will be collecting hats, gloves, scarves and mittens on our "Mitten Tree" in Fellowship Hall. All the items will be donated to the Christian Family Care Center. Please help us "decorate" the tree!
